Wings (with me)
I had the opportunity to follow my friend Chris Arnade this summer during his favorite pastime: chasing pigeons and meeting pigeon keepers. Getting up on the roofs was quite a journey, but once up-there, it was an astonishing spectacle.
It encapsulates everything I love about street photography. Poignant stories from raw characters, splendid urban sceneries enhanced by the golden hour, grittiness, motion, agitation and multitude contrasted by solitude and an intense feeling of serenity.
Make sure to check his fantastic series “Pigeon Keepers of Bushwick”.

I love your photos so much. Pigeons are such humble, unappreciated birds. They are kind of gross, but they are just living off human excess in a unique modern evolutionary niche. I’d like to think they are stealing from the rat population anyway.
